It’s still pretty much winter temperature-wise but the sun is warm and the ground is slowly thawing. The first herbs up every spring are the chives. By this time of year, we’re starved for fresh garden goodies so I had to use the few precious chive shoots. I just had to make something fresh.
Anyone who has chives knows they come up early and you pretty much can’t hurt them by cutting them. In fact, chives can’t really be killed. So I cut them back and made drop biscuits. I added the last three cloves of garlic we have left as well. It was bittersweet using the last of the garlic but refreshing to use fresh chives.
I used a recipe I found online – here’s a link if you’d like to give it a try.
