Well, summer is drawing to a close and were moving back into Back to School Time. The gardens are producing like crazy and we’ve got lots of fresh and delicious food.
We didn’t attend the farmer’s market this summer and although we approached several local businesses and restaurants, we didn’t find a good market for our fresh herbs. To put it bluntly, the Dancing Rabbit simply isn’t making money. We thought about changing directions, growing more produce but honestly, that’s a big shift and there are some really great produce growers in the area and we don’t want to compete. Besides, The Dancing Rabbit is all about herbs. Herbs and cooking. It’s a personal passion. Growing huge quantities of produce is not a personal passion.
So, we’re wrapping the Dancing Rabbit up and shutting the official business down. Are we still growing and cooking? You betcha. But we are not going to be all official about it any more. We’ll still write our blog posts as we can, but we also won’t be publishing our newsletter anymore either.
I know, for those of you who follow up and have been so supportive, this is a big change. It’s a big change for us as well. It’s a little disappointing to find out that your personal passion is not shared but enough folks locally to support a small business. But that seems to be the case and you can’t be angry about it, you just have to accept the situation and spend time doing what makes you happy right? We’ve had so much support and I think we’ve shared some joy along the way. It’s been fun and we appreciate your kind words and support.
